Installing CS18 seismic system for the Korea Meteorological Administration

Largest project implemented to date

SPEKTRA delivered one of the biggest projects in the company history to a national Korean metrology laboratory at the end of March 2020.

The call for tenders comprised three identical primary calibration systems for seismic sensors with a weight up to 30 kg for calibrations in a frequency range 0.1 Hz…400 Hz. Based on the renowned CS18P VLF that is in operation in many national metrology laboratories worldwide a variant with SE-13 and APS 600 vibration exciter was supplied. Both shakers allow to excite such heavy seismic sensors very precisely with minimized cross motion and harmonic distortion.

The order covered a key turn solution which besides the calibration system included the supply of the concrete blocks with precision table slab required to mount the vibration exciters and a set of mounting adapters for the device under test sensors. Together with our sales partner in Korea the construction works in the Korean laboratory, production of the calibration system as well as the installation and training in Korea could be managed within the given tight schedule. During the handover of the systems in an official ceremony the customer expressed his satisfaction with the smooth project management.
