An easy introduction to the world of sensor testing
A sensor test exciter generates specific physical stimuli for checking sensor behavior. During the test, a known input quantity (e.g. vibration, shock or pressure) is produced and compared with the sensor signal.
Different systems are used depending on the requirements: vibration exciters are used for sinusoidal tests, shock exciters are used for impulse loads and specialized solutions are used for very low frequencies and large DUTs. The main differences lie in the frequency range, the type of excitation and the dynamics and load capacity of the systems.
